Interchange Capital Partners is thrilled to announce that we added a new star to our team: Lynn Loo. Simply stated, Lynn’s background, enthusiasm for learning, and exceptional work ethic are remarkable. We’re delighted to add her name to our roster of outstanding team members.
Our firm has a strong focus and deep experience working with business owners, individuals, families, and entrepreneurs. Lynn’s extensive university, intern, and work experience as a business consultant and strategist fit perfectly with our priorities of helping our business owner clients understand where they are today and building comprehensive plans for their future.
Let’s learn more about Lynn Loo.
Lynn’s Background
Lynn recently graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in finance and business analytics. Before earning her degree, she gained diverse finance and business analytics work experience as an equity research analyst, a peer financial consultant, and a portfolio manager.
As a peer financial counselor, Lynn provided personalized financial consulting sessions to students, assisting them with budget preparation, cash flow analysis, credit counseling, and debt repayment plans. She also developed financial models and visual aids using Excel and PowerPoint for these sessions and led biweekly financial literacy workshops to enhance students’ financial skills.
Additionally, as a Finance Intern at Affin Hwang Asset Management in Kuala Lumpur, Lynn helped develop comprehensive budget projections for the fiscal year, constructed Excel models incorporating advanced formulas and macros to automate data entry and reporting processes, and helped prepare tax documents by gathering and organizing relevant financial data.
These experiences have equipped Lynn with the essential skills needed for a standout career in business analysis, strategy, and consulting.
Why Lynn Chose the Finance Industry
Lynn Loo has been interested in finance since she was a little girl. Her fascination began with simple activities like budgeting her allowance and learning about savings accounts.
Her early interest grew into an understanding of how financial markets operate, the importance of business analysis, and the role finance plays in shaping a thriving business. Lynn’s passion for finance drove her to pursue a career in the dynamic and impactful finance industry.
Lynn’s Role at Interchange
At Interchange Capital Partners, Lynn officially joins the Investment Management division as an analyst, where her primary focus will be analyzing client portfolios and collaborating with the investment team to develop tailored strategies. She will also rotate through the Financial Strategies and Family Office Solutions divisions, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s diverse service offerings.
During her time with the Investment Management team, Lynn will work closely with senior members to produce customized reports related to performance, attribution, and exposure. Her responsibilities include collaborating with different teams within the firm to prepare reports for clients and conducting research on mutual funds, separately managed accounts (SMAs), exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and private market funds.
Lynn’s role also involves monitoring investments to confirm alignment with selection criteria, while tracking market and economic indicators to identify potential risks and opportunities. As part of the portfolio management and execution process, she will regularly assess portfolio deviations from target asset allocations, manage the investment of excess cash, and track cash flows for our clients to maintain sufficient liquidity for their operations and future investments.
Lynn’s Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Lynn enjoys various activities that help her stay balanced and energized. Baking allows her to unwind and get creative in the kitchen—she’s particularly proud of her matcha burnt cheesecake! Lynn enjoys traveling, and editing videos of her travels is another hobby she cherishes; it lets her relive her adventures and share them with others.
